Hello There.

My name is Alex Jackson.

I am an undergraduate student at Carnegie Mellon University currently working on a B.A. in Physics with an additional major in EHPP (Ethics, History, and Public Policy). Within physics I am interested in quantum optics, and physics beyond the standard model. I have conducted research at CMU previously as part of the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at CERN, and as a research assistant at CMU using data from the Gaia sky survey, working to identify and understand dark matter.

I am also very passionate about education, and closing the education gap for underrepresented groups in STEM. I have targeted my studies in public policy around education, and worked with several organizations on and off campus related to serving this goal. From teaching kids to code, to building holograms, to writing curriculum on rockets, to mentoring students one on one, I've ventured to bring experiential learning to students from K-12 and beyond. You can find my work organized by its subject in the tabs. Please feel free to contact me by email.
